Browne Academy seeks dynamic and innovative teachers to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. A teaching position in the Lower School requires a compassionate, flexible, and creative individual with classroom experience. This person must work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to support Browne’s mission by promoting the core values in each child’s educational and personal experience. The teacher should possess a holistic view of children and understand the young child’s development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for integrated learning and strong communication skills. The candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of how differentiated assessment informs instruction and will be familiar with current research into neuroscience and its implications for effective teaching. Classroom Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute thoughtful units of study designed to reach the different learning styles of the students in the classroom.
- Collaborate with your teaching team and specialist teachers to ensure integration with other subjects.
- Assess student learning regularly using various tools and means throughout each trimester and communicate regularly with parents and administrators about student progress.
- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Consistently communicate with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding progress, growth, and goals.
- Adhere to the school’s curriculum in the classroom.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education.
- Experience teaching in a lower school classroom, preferably in an independent school setting.

Responsibilities
- Prepare engaging, age-appropriate lessons reflecting extensive curriculum knowledge, student development, and abilities.
- Utilize various teaching methods to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Integrate meaningful and effective technology in the classroom.
- Participate in the continuing development of an inquiry-based math curriculum that prepares students to be critical, independent thinkers.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management.
- Meet deadlines for reporting grades.
- Monitor students’ progress, strengths, and weaknesses, and communicate these to parents/guardians and administrators when necessary.
- Prepare substantive parent-teacher conference reports and written documentation on student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school.
- Serve as an advisor to a group of middle school students.
- Attend and contribute in full, divisional, departmental, and team faculty meetings.
- Take an active role in professional activities and attend relevant professional meetings and conferences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advances in math education.
- All other duties as assigned by the Associate Head of School
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in math, math education, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of teaching experience.
- Experience in an independent school preferred.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of algebra and middle school math and pedagogy.
- Knowledge of and experience with project-based learning is preferred.
- Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner that reflects the school’s values.
- Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and parents/guardians.
- Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in G Suite is required.
