Position Summary
Browne Academy seeks a creative, strategic, and collaborative Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the school’s storytelling, brand management, and communications efforts. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, this position plays a key role in shaping and promoting the Browne Academy experience to prospective families, current families, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and the broader community.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator and storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong organizational and project management skills, and understands how to build community engagement through compelling content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Storytelling
- Serve as the primary storyteller for Browne Academy, crafting compelling narratives that highlight the school’s mission, values, programs, and community.
- Collaborate with administrators, faculty, students, parents, and alumni to identify and develop meaningful stories and content.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support enrollment, advancement, and community engagement goals.
- Ensure consistent messaging, voice, and visual identity across all school communications and marketing materials.
Website & Digital Communications
- Serve as the primary administrator and strategist for the school website.
- Manage and continually enhance the website to ensure an engaging user experience, clear messaging, strong brand alignment, and current content.
- Serve as liaison to the school’s website hosting and development partners (i.e. WordPress).
- Collaborate with staff on website content management and best practices.
- Produce and distribute digital communications, including e-newsletters, announcements, and campaign communications.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Manage Browne Academy’s social media presence across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube/Vimeo.
- Create engaging content, including photography, video, graphics, and written copy, to promote school life and events.
- Monitor trends and analytics to strengthen audience engagement and expand the school’s digital presence.
Publications & Marketing Materials
- Oversee the planning, design, production, and distribution of school publications and collateral materials, including:
- Annual Report
- Inside Browne magazine
- School calendar
- Yearbook
- Event programs and invitations
- Admissions and fundraising materials
- Flyers, brochures, and advertisements
- Collaborate with administrative staff on the creation of print and digital advertising campaigns that support admissions, advancement, and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain editorial and graphic standards to uphold the integrity and consistency of the Browne Academy brand.
Media Relations & Community Engagement
- Promote positive visibility for Browne Academy through print, digital, and broadcast media opportunities.
- Build relationships with local media outlets and community partners.
- Coordinate photography and videography coverage of school events and maintain the school’s photo/video archive.
Analytics & Professional Growth
- Track and analyze metrics related to marketing, communications, website traffic, and social media engagement to assess effectiveness and inform strategy.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in independent school marketing and communications.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, conferences, and professional networks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support school events and occasional evening or weekend activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement or Head of School.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, graphic design, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, digital content management, and graphic design.
- Exceptional writing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in graphic design, photography, photo editing, and video production.
- Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate use of artificial intelligence.
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
- Ability to create original content and identify compelling story opportunities.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and initiatives simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated with a positive, collaborative approach.
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to attend and cover school events outside regular school hours as needed.
Competitive Benefits
Browne Academy offers a competitive benefits package including health, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, fully or partially paid for by Browne Academy, plus voluntary dental and vision insurance. Browne contributes 4.5% of salary to a 403(b) after one year of service and an additional 1% match. Staff receive four weeks of scheduled school holidays, 10 PTO days, and 10 vacation days.
Additional benefits include 75% tuition remission for eligible students enrolled at Browne Academy after one year of employment (space permitting), free morning care and aftercare during the school year, 75% off summer camp, and free aftercare for summer camp.

Browne Academy seeks substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. A substitute teaching position requires a compassionate, flexible, and creative individual with classroom experience. This person must work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to support Browne’s mission by promoting the core values in each child’s educational and personal experience. - Implement pre-prepared lesson plans
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.

Browne Summer Camp is an ACA-accredited coed day camp for ages 3 – 13. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated staff who love camp and love kids. Sports, arts and crafts, swimming – we have it all!
