After-Care Counselor
We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified applicants to join our Auxiliary Services Department in the After-Care Program. The ideal applicant is someone who enjoys working with children, ages 3-13 years of age. Applicants should excel in supervision, activity planning, and reliability. The core schedule is Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00PM, and this position is paid based on experience and qualifications. Pay range: $11.00-$16.00.

Browne Academy is seeking dynamic and innovative long-term substitute teachers to join our lower school team (Preschool – 4th Grade) from mid-November to the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Our positions require a compassionate, flexible, and creative individual with classroom experience. This person will need to work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to support Browne’s mission by promoting the core values in the educational and personal experience of each child. The teacher should possess a holistic view of children and understand the developmental process of the young child. The ideal candidate will have a passion for integrated learning and possess strong communication skills. The candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of how differentiated assessment informs instruction and will be familiar with current research into neuroscience and its implications for effective instruction. This position will start on November 6 and go through the end of the year, June 7, 2024.

Classroom Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute thoughtful units of study designed to reach the different learning styles of the students in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with your teaching team and specialist teachers to ensure integration with other subjects.
  • Regularly assess student learning using a variety of tools and means throughout each semester and maintain regular communication with parents and administrators about student progress.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Consistently and clearly communicate with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding progress, growth, and goals.
  • Adhere to the school’s curriculum in the classroom.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education.
  • Experience in a lower school classroom, preferably in an independent school setting.
  • Proficiency in spanish.
