All students will be moved to the Middle School Atrium at 11:45 AM, and parent pickup may begin at 12:00 PM. Administrative staff will remain on campus until all students have been safely picked up.

The Arts
It’s never too soon to introduce children to the possibilities of creative expression, so our visual and performing arts classes begin in preschool and are an integral part of the Browne experience at every grade level. We know that involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking and verbal skills, but we also value the arts as a source of joy and relaxation. Through our integrated curriculum, the arts are used to deepen student understanding as they explore societies, cultures and the sciences. Every student receives a strong foundation in music and visual arts and they leave Browne with the confidence to express their ideas and view challenges through a creative lens.
The Place for Sports, Theatre and Community Events
Center for Athletics and Performing Arts
Joyous events happen in the CAPA! This building inspires personal, athletic, and artistic talents to grow and shine in all areas of the curriculum and community. Our students love to perform on the stage and watching their confidence grow from year to year is part of the magic of Browne. Physical Education is a core class for all students and it is tailored to the developmental needs for each age child. Middle school string orchestra, handbells, choir, and drama are all offered during the school day, and the middle school athletics no cut policy gives students an opportunity to try new sports with their friends and experience the inclusivity of being on a team. The CAPA also hosts a variety of community events where friends, family, alumni, and staff gather to celebrate the students and their accomplishments.
The Iconic Building on Campus
The Greystone
Browne Academy moved from a rented house in Arlington to its current location in 1945 when founder, Marion Browne, purchased the 11-acre farm with a castle-like main building, the Greystone. At the time, this iconic building housed preschool-3rd grade and over the years, it has been transformed many times. We relish the history of our school and the stories this historic building tells.

Outdoor Learning and Play
Our beautiful 12-acre campus is complete with wooded areas, playgrounds and a stream, all of which are used extensively to provide unique outdoor learning and play opportunities for our students. Outdoor learning and play improves child development, supports mental health and wellbeing, deepens connections to nature, and provides opportunities for students to apply concepts learned in the classroom to the real world.

With two innovation centers, one designed especially for preschool, our students learn to look at the world creatively and ethically.
